Last emergent technology

This website called Smilebox gives you different templates to make cards to send to other people or scrapbook pages. You can add pictures to be able to use on the template and also you can type out your own message on areas provided. The site gives you a way to post it on many different web pages, print it, or send it via e-mail. The website was very easy to use and very self explanitory. If you wanted to spend a little money you could add your own music and do a lot more with it. I think for simple little projects its a very good tool. Basically just play with all the tools on the toolbar and try out different templates.

I used GoAnimate for this technology trial. It is a certain tool that allows you to make little movies with characters and scenes with sounds. If you wanted to make a visual learning tool, a fun little clip, a slide show, or anything else you could bring yourself to do this is a great tool to use. The program was fairly simple to use minus the fact that you had to trial and error different buttons and their purposes. Plus I had a hard time trying to get music of my own to put on the program. I made a little animation peice that I will try to post on here...it is a bit morbid but I just wanted to try something quick and easy, I posted one of my own pictures and the background and wrote out the dialog. So here goes,

If you are going to try this site, try to use one of your own photos it makes the scene more personalized to you. Also you have to drag the sound onto the scene that you want it although most of the songs drag through more than one clip. The last thing you can flip the people with the two arrow buttons when you click on the people but you cannot flilp the word boxes so don't even try.

My podcast

This assignment would have been easy for me had I not tried to be fancy with it. The podcast can be a video instruction as well for those just like me that started freaking out when they saw others just putting the audio version. I tried to do a podcast about making sugar cookies at first and with different takes and I was trying to use a movie editor in the IT building to revise it and even add captions, but the program wouldn't work with youtube and it made too big of a file (probably because it took two and a half hours to render). So I decided to go the more simple route and teach people how to streak and tip their hair at home in one take. I had my lovely fiancee help film both movies so he was pretty irritated by the time we were done. It took a long time for the movie to go up on youtube but it did eventually. I figure this could be used to teach stories or if you have a good visual and audio example of a classroom lesson you can record it at home and show your students. Another way to use podcasting is if you had something to share with all the class you could send an audio message to everyone to make it more personalized. I saw a lot of you using audacity and I thought I should give my own perspective on that program because I use that program for music recording. Unless you are using sound effects it is basically a push record and save type of program. Also for the type of podcast I was doing on youtube you can only post 1 gb and 10 minutes worth of material so if you have more than that you may have to modify or find another way to upload. My Delicious account

I thought delicious was a fairly simple site to figure out as long as you copy and past the location of the website it is pretty much like a bookmark on your web browser that you can access anywhere. Which can be extremly helpful in a bind.

My only suggestion is that for you to be able to keep track of how many links you have made toward a certain requirement make the tags exactly the same for each category.

Just so everybody knows you can post other stuff on their too other than what is required.

Pieces of me and my thoughts about my blogging process...

My name is Chelsea. I am an adventerous person with a willingness to learn. I have a fiancee named Tony, We have been together for two years and counting. I love hanging out with my friends but unfortunatly a lot of them have moved far away.

Usually I am a huge people pleaser and I try to do the best I can to give everyone what they want, but sadely that is impossible. If you haven't noticed yet I love taking pictures, using pictures in blogs, pretty much doing stuff with photography. In IUPUI I am trying to obtain a bacholers in Elementary Education and I am trying to receive a minor in dance.

I have blogged before so this is no new adventure for me. Basically I used all the applications that I wanted without making my page look too crowded with little things. I am thinking about still inserting a background picture, but we will see. Basically if you are having any trouble with anything just e-mail me on oncourse. The best advice I could give you is just explore all that the website offers and pick and choose what you want to use.
